Weekend skimthrough
Had a great Labor Day weekend ^_^ Spent most of it in Woodbridge, either celebrating birthdays or with my new housemates (and a little of both ;) Saturday was the birthday party. Fun times, board games (well, Apples to Apples, so it was actually a card game...) and banter and some people tossing around the idea of setting up a neighborhood community type thing, which seemed like it would be a very good idea and sounds like the kind of thing I'd want to be a part of someday in a few years once I have enough money to afford a house and once I have some sort of independent income so that I can live there and not have to deal with a hellish commute. Okay, ending tangent, back to the weekend.
Sunday did some packing and actually got load number one of stuff down to Woodbridge. Yay me! Helped move other things from the room that will be mine back into the master bedroom, which is looking good with its new paint job. Then we all headed up with to the Contra dance at Glen Echo, which turned out to be square dancing instead (still not sure quite what was up with that... must have been a visiting group or something had an arrangement with the people running it). Anyway, ended up having a great time, and I'm looking forward to making it out there again in the next couple of weeks sometime (though it might be October before I can find the time, given the amount of stuff I have coming up in Sept.) I also got some waltzing lessons from
fireandearth, which were fun and very encouraging. And a good time was had by all ^_^
margoeve and
elkor and I then headed back to their place, where I crashed for the evening after a shower and R&R. Monday we ran some errands and did some shopping; Wilson's Leather Outlet down in the Potomac Mills mall was having a Labor Day clearance sale and I managed to find a few very nice deals. ^_^ After that we came back and played with poi and watched the first few episodes of Greg the Bunny, which was funny, but something that I think I need to take in small doses.
Then it was sadly time for me to head back home to get ready for the week. Looks like it is going to be another busy one ;)
