Dear Blogosphere: Thoughts on Chumby?

A coworker recently pointed out the Chumby to me. My initial thought is that it seems like it has a lot of potential, but at the same time, I don't particularly need another dev toy, not when I've already got my desktop, a Motorola HC-11 dev kit, a PIC dev kit, and a Wii (and, more specifically, WiiMotes!) to play with ~wry~

Still, I'm curious as to whether anyone out there has seen this and heard anything about whether it seems like it would be fun to play with ^_^

Well, (and I was initially going to stop here) it has a stupid name.
Otherwise, why do you want/need a widget that's always on? I can kill plenty of time with my computers that I have to turn on in order to be distracted by them. This layers into the reason that I do not own a television. I do not need a screen in my rooms that is "doing stuff" and pulling my attention. At least with my laptops, I close them and there is no screen, I work on them and I have to tell them to open pages that I know are full of distraction, etc...

I don't like the color selection. Of course I have a laptop and a Desktop so why would I want another device that those both can do?
