As someone who's currently unemployed, I understand that pay raise is not necessarily the only deciding factor, but a pay cut MIGHT be a future consideration not only for your life options, but future companies might question the difference.
Again, it's not the only issue, but it is something to consider. If we lived in perfect communism then it wouldn't matter, but accept the system as it is in what restraints you feel comfortable with.
