What is the difference between 'lexicalize' and 'define'? (aside from the obvious ones like 'number of syllables' and 'spellings' ;p )

Lexicon

I would say that lexicalize means that you are entering the word into a central reference and establishing it as a recognized word. Whereas define means to extract it from a central lexicon, or create a temporary description of what it means.
