Little Moment's Peace

Ahhh, it feels good to be almost done packing.
My stuff all in boxes, done with my brain wracking!
My arms slightly sore from the moving and stacking...
Ahhh, it feels good to be almost done packing!

Before, 'twas a mess with stuff strewn all about
So great was the chaos, I almost did doubt
My chance of undoing the tidyness drought
Before, 'twas a mess with stuff strewn all about

And now it's all gone, I have almost finished
With the pots and the tchotchkas quite gladly to find
The stuff in the room quite largely diminished
Now to set about getting a small peace of mind!

All I have left are the bedclothes, my computer, and a few other small things, and I'll be ready to move out. It's like the contentment of "I've done the best I could and now things will fall where they may" combined with the slightly tense excitement of "I've just created a large Rube Goldberg-like machine and am about to set it in motion. If this works, it's going to be awesome!" That moment where, just for an instant, things are at a standstill--that precise instant when your thoughts shift from "It's about to start" to "There it goes!" For now though, in that standstill, I'm taking a little moment's peace--and man does it feel good ^_^
