Word of Recall
Oct. 25th, 2004 11:10 amOkay, so unfortunately I do not have such powerful magics at my disposal, and as a result I am forced to take an airplane. Still, today I make my triumphant return to the nation's capital (if returning to such a place can be called "triumphant"--though I do keep finding reasons to stick around ;) It's been a great time out here though, and I'm looking forward to many more visits. This morning's physics lecture was awesome--they began covering rotational motion, so the prof did the demonstration of sitting on a stool with a spinning wheel, turning it sideways, and having it make him spin, and also the "ice-skater" demonstration where he held two handweights out and started spinning, then pulled them in and spun much faster (yay conservation of angular momentum ^_^ )
Now I'm relaxing in the computer lab, catching up on livejournals and comics, and then I'll be meeting up with my sister again for Calculus (looking forward to further proofs--they're really fun when you know what you're doing, and her prof is very good at explaining what's going on in a way that I understand, so it's a grand ol' time ^_^ ) Then I get to brave the Chicago public transportation system in an attempt to get myself back to O'Hare in time for my 5:30 flight. Hopefully my long months of DC training will not have been in vain...
Wish me luck, and hopefully I'll be seeing my friends back in DC soon :)
