Brief Review: Pirates of the Caribbean III (contains small spoilers from Pirates II)

Given that I didn't particularly care for the last one (was too difficult for me to follow; I couldn't figure out what the spoon was going on with the dice game and, at about the same time, lost track of who was trading how many years of whose life as a sailor on the Flying Dutchman...) I was a bit trepidatious about going to see this one.

Happily, it did not disappoint. There were still a few places where I wish they'd either given more explanation or taken it in a different direction, but all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a very fun ride, and it resolved everything that I wanted to see resolved.

The art of helping someone to stop beating themselves up for a transgression that they believe they have committed against you.

Personally, I'd be very tempted to use the word "forgiveness" to express this concept, but I don't think that that's quite how most people use that word... or am I mistaken? If I say "Please forgive me," would you interpret that as "Please help me to stop beating myself up for doing this to you"? If you say, "I forgive you," do you mean, "Don't beat yourself up over it on my account"?
