So it's okay to kill people (Iraqi insurgents and militia opposing the US forces) to save people (the Iraqis) but it's not okay to kill people (human embryos) to save people (suffering from diseases that could be alleviated by stem cell research)?

And it's ok to kill someone who is attacking you, but not ok to end your own life if you're dying.

And it's ok to kill someone for the death penalty, but not by smoking cigarettes.

*grin* Not so long ago that I can't remember those parts.

Though I can't remember whether there was a common guiding principle. Money? Perceived power?

And what's up with making it illegal to attempt suicide? Isn't that more incentive to get it right the first time? Because if you screw up, not only will you still be alive, you'll also be a criminal...
