Down With the Sickness
May. 31st, 2005 08:28 amOkay, maybe "up with the sickness" would have been a better title for this post; insomnia struck somewhere shortly before five this morning, and I spent the next hour and a half tossing and turning and not quite being able to fall asleep, but not really waking up enough to have thoughts that made sense.
It's the second time in the past three or four nights that this sort of thing has happened. I don't think I've been up like that for a long time. Maybe the last time I was sick, though even that only happened for like one night. There are too many factors that it could be, I guess. I do have a cold again, which might be it. It could be a side effect of the stress from dealing with the car situation and the other things going on in my life. It could be that I am practicing chi kung too close to bedtime. It could be that my apartment is too warm now that late spring seems to be manifesting itself properly.
Over the next few days I'll try to tweak those different things and see whether I'm able to sleep more soundly.

The cold is likely a by-product of stress and your body telling you to stop fucking with it.
Personally I wish I could find a way to sleep through the night consistently. I usually wake up a half hour or hour before my alarm. I can get right back to sleep but it's SO annoying having that wake-up.
