Because I haven't for so long

Life's been busy. Work has been fantastic, which I think is the major contributor to my not writing much recently; most of my posting was done during office hours in the past because I couldn't stand what I was doing and needed a break. These days that's not nearly as much of an issue, and things are plenty busy here at home preparing for the move or practicing musical instruments or reading up on woodworking or playing Shadow Hearts or pursuing another of my multitude of hobbies that I don't really think to post when I'm at home.
We found a relatively big place down in Springfield just off 7100 that will give us room to spread out a bit more. Five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a livingroom, a diningroom, a kitchen, a sun deck, a rec room with a fireplace (which we're going to make into our "traditional crafts" room), a front yard, a back yard, a driveway big enough for all three of our cars, and a garage that I think will be large enough for me to set up a small woodshop in. I'm very much looking forward to it--we took possession yesterday, and we're doing the official "move all the big stuff" next weekend on the 10th, but don't worry, this isn't a call for help; we're getting movers to do the heavy lifting this time around ^_^
Yes. The idea of being able to make my own furniture and other useful things out of wood has held appeal for me for a long time. Now that we've got a big garage that we probably won't be using for cars, my roommates have said that it would be okay with them if I set up a small workspace in there. I'm excited about the possibilities ^_^ I figure I'll start small and try to see whether it is something that I actually enjoy doing (as opposed to just fantasizing about ;) and go from there.
Yeah, my collection seems to have grown substantially. I've got a mountain dulcimer, a hammered dulcimer, a violin, a guitar, a recorder, a couple of bamboo flutes, and a harmonica. No concertina yet though; at least I've got some willpower left. I'm not doing much with the woodwinds right now, but I am trying to put in some time every day or two on one of the others. I've got a long way to go, but it's fun. Maybe one day I'll be my own one man band! One very eccentric man band... ;)
