Polyphonic Immersion

tcepsaI was listening to some music on my computer a little earlier and realized, "This doesn't sound right." So I fired up my sound card's control panel and went a-tweaking. It turns out that I had (apparently in a fit of temporary insanity--or possibly because I was using a different set of speakers the last time I had done such tweaking) told it that I was using 2 speakers. I'm currently using 5.1 speakers, so I changed the setting to reflect that.
That helped, but things were still kind of weird--inspection of WinAmp revealed that I had bumped the balance slider all the way to the left. No wonder I wasn't hearing any sound out of half the speakers!
It's so nice to be sitting at the center of surround sound again ^_^
