Between the roads being varying degrees of treacherous and my sinuses being varying degrees of... treacherous, I'm thinking that a stay-home-and-take-care-of-myself day is in order. On the one hand, not getting paid for it is less than ideal, but on the other hand I probably wouldn't get a whole lot actually accomplished due to the cold, I might get my coworkers sick in the process, and the drive--while probably do-able--is much more stress than I want to deal with in my current state.

Be careful out there if you're going out.

Why not paid?

They won't let you go negative on sick leave?

Many companies will let someone accrue negative leave (mine let's me go up to 10 days). Generally it's whatever your annual alotment is.

You should check with HR about it.

I'm still a contractor, so I don't get paid leave. On the flip side, they've been very flexible for letting me take whatever leave I did want to use. Seems like a fair deal to me--I don't mind not getting paid if you don't mind me taking time when I need it ^_^
