Did the paperwork to make an offer on a house last night. This house, to be specific (yes, both buildings are included--the one on the right looks to be a garage that someone remodeled into a guest house). It's exciting and scary all at the same time, and I hope to hear an initial response by Friday.

~grin~ Part of me can't believe I'm doing this. Most of me can't wait!

I celebrated making the offer with a candle-lit soak in a bubble bath with some of my favorite videogame music playing.

It counteracted the stress pretty well, I'd say ^_^

~wry smile~ Hadn't thought much about that yet. Probably going to try to have a room for music and a room for crafts and a room for computers...

Really not sure what I'll be doing with the guest house yet. I've been strongly encouraged to think about renting it out, and that's a really tempting prospect, but I'm way too stressed with just all of the buying-a-house stuff right now to focus on that. So until then I'm thinking it'll be the home theatre--finally, a place I can set up my projector and use it to full effect! ^_^

Is it fee simple property or ground rent? A lot of houses in Gwynn Oak are ground rent. Barring that it looks awesome!

Just checked, fee simple all right. That's a nice neighborhood too! I know a girl who rents a house near there. :)

Yep, looked at a couple that were ground rent but decided against them (mainly for other reasons, but it didn't help ;)

I'm really glad to hear that about the neighborhood--it seemed like a decent area to me the few times I've driven through there, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

I'll be commuting down to basically where 32 and 29 intersect. It's about twenty minutes to half an hour, depending on traffic. My shortest commute yet!

(Actually, it's because that's where houses I can afford and a commute I can stand are located ^_^)

And you will so see me--my attendance of Glen Echo functions is predicted to rise dramatically in the coming months ^_^ (by which I mean I plan to start going to stuff semi-regularly instead of semi-annually ;)
