Woo hoo! It's hard to decide which was more fun this weekend--getting birthday presents or bargain shopping on Friday ;) Getting birthday presents was awesome because, hey, it's birthday presents and they rock (especially when they include stuff for calligraphy and a blank journal and handmade glass especially created for you by your brother XD )

Shopping for bargains was awesome because I feel that I got some decent ones. For example:
  • Scanner (for comic--let's see if I can do it in pencil and ink faster than I can do it on a tablet!)
  • Hard drive (200 GB of storage space goodness)
  • Blank DVDs (DVD burner isn't much good without these babies)
  • Pa1m0ne Zire 31 (Programming on the metro, without all that pesky laptop hassle--okay so it's more likely that it'll be "video games and MP3s on the Metro" but still, yay for fun! Oh, and maybe I'll be able to get a little bit more organized, too *snicker* ;)
  • Other miscellaneous stuff that I wouldn't normally buy for myself even though I've been interested in it but now, well whaddaya know? It's on sale! ^_^

I won't go into too big of a list here, but some of the other highlights from this weekend included:
  • Hanging out with some of the extended family and playing Mindtrap and Broomball on Thanksgiving (legs still recovering from that--mostly better now ;)
  • Seeing The Incredibles again. Almost as good the second time--part of that was just that I was running on exhaustion and not much food, which led to me developing a migrane. Still was able to enjoy though ^_^
  • Discussing relativity with my sister (see earlier entry: The Red Green Experiment). Came to the conclusion that I may have left some important distance-shortening aspects of relativity out, so definitely need to double-check the logic on that.
  • Playing the card game Peanuts with the family. 6-way multiplayer madness!
  • Watching The Triplets of Bellevue and the MST3K-ed version of Riding With Death ("There's about a 1 in 4 chance we're gonna get out of this alive!")

All in all, it's been a grand vacation. I hope everyone had similarly-sized amounts of fun (or more :) over their Thanksgiving!

Now I'm off to download some text adventures for the Zire--it's brilliant brilliant brilliant I tell you! Genius I say!

Happy belated birthday!

Hehe, it actually snowed probably about 6 inches on Saturday, which was way cool--that was another thing to add to the greatness of the overall trip :) I didn't have any rootbeer floats :( but there was lots and lots of cheesecake (yay decadence!) I did bundle up most of the time, outside because it was chilly, inside because I kind of caught a cold (combination of all the different stresses of flying/staying up too late/not eating enough of the right kinds of food/etc) but that was all good.

And yes, the anime smile got much usage over the weekend! XD
