Surprise Thermal Experience

My hair is currently the longest it has ever been in my whole entire life. I took a shower this morning. I then proceeded to drive to work, stopping at a gas station to fill up. As I got back into the car I felt something poke me in the head. I reached up to see what it was (and un-poke myself) and realized that my hair, still wet from the shower, had frozen into many long, semi-brittle bunches. Coooooooooooool!!!

Next time, I'll have to try to remember to hold it in fun positions and see how well it stays ^_^

Polyphonic Immersion

I was listening to some music on my computer a little earlier and realized, "This doesn't sound right." So I fired up my sound card's control panel and went a-tweaking. It turns out that I had (apparently in a fit of temporary insanity--or possibly because I was using a different set of speakers the last time I had done such tweaking) told it that I was using 2 speakers. I'm currently using 5.1 speakers, so I changed the setting to reflect that.

That helped, but things were still kind of weird--inspection of WinAmp revealed that I had bumped the balance slider all the way to the left. No wonder I wasn't hearing any sound out of half the speakers!

It's so nice to be sitting at the center of surround sound again ^_^
