Yesterday was awesome. Dispelled two shadows that had been bugging me at the back of my brain. Got a copy of Dracula (I figure it's high time I read it!) illustrated by Edward Gorey (they guy who did The Gashleycrumb Tinies and the opening animation for the PBS show Mystery). I'm to chapter 3, and so far it's awesome ^_^ Played bridge--didn't do nearly as well this time as last time (in my opinion) but for one thing I felt like I got harder hands to bid and play, and for another I tried not to ask for bidding advice/interpretation (which ended up getting us in trouble at least once... oops!) On the plus side I actually tried with some success to keep track of cards as they were played, and I'm pretty sure that on at least one occasion it helped me. Also had some very good conversations, which is always fun :) Switching topics before I put the rest of you to sleep... Another shadow came up last night at the end of the evening. That one might end up lingering for awhile, but we talked about it a lot and it's getting better as well, and it's something that will dissipate with time. All in all, yesterday was definitely a good day ^_^

bridge!

You're learning to play bridge? That's awesome! I tought myself to play well enough to beat Dave's relatively dumb computer program, but that's about it. I'd like to be able to play with real people.

Spades is like a simpler form of pinauchle, I think, because that's the game our parents taught us first. Spades is always trump... YEah that's about all I remember.....

Glad you found peoples to play cards with!!
