Car Stereo Question
Apr. 15th, 2005 12:44 pmEarlier today,
elkor posted that this site is offering what amounts to a 20 GB iPod for Volkswagen vehicles. I really want to get one, but I don't own a Volkswagen. I own a '93 Geo Prizm, which is conspicuously absent from their list of compatible models.
I'm good at following directions/figuring things out and I'm willing to experiment (i.e. take the chance that I'll accidentally brush the wrong wires together and blow out my speaker system). Keeping that in mind, is this something that could probably be modified to work with my car, or would such an attempt be Crossing-The-Streams Bad?

Date: 2005-04-16 08:37 pm (UTC)With somthing like this, however, my first advice would be to just buy an adaptor for the car lighter, and one of those headphones-to-tape player things... or an iTrip (which broadcasts from a headphone jack over FM for a distance of about 15 feet).
Let me know if you'd like me to ask around and see if anyone knows about cars not on the compatability list...

Although I will say that a lot of car sterio equipment is interchangable...
