Gatherings
Oct. 3rd, 2004 12:27 pmYesterday I had a bunch of people over to my new place, just to hang out and such, and it was awesome :) About six people were able to make it--two others weren't, but such is life; so far, I haven't figured out how to be in two places at once yet, either. I was able to introduce Bailey and Erica to the goodness that is Hackers and Jason brought over some dip that he had made and it was quite tasty, and all in all I think everyone had a good time ^_^
After that, some of us went out to celebrate Jason's birthday by heading down to Old Town to meet up with some of the other Cyber-students. We walked around Old Town a little bit, explored the Discovery store (mental note: get harmonica or ask for one for birthday... and find someplace that sells sheet music, because I'm tired of trying to figure songs out by ear and it's high time I learned how to read it ;) Then we headed down to the waterfront area.
The fading twilight
Tendrils of mist
Hanging low and thick over the river
Caressing us coolly as we walk the piers
And gaze over the tranquil water
To see the orange haze of dinner cruises
Flashes of light from the north
Draw my gaze to the monuments in the sky
Laced with their glowing circuits
As their deep mutterings
Ripple through the still air
After that, we headed to the restaurant (Bertucci's--very good pizza, but an "individual" is definitely enough for more than one person. On the plus side, I now have food for probably two more meals ;) and then wandered around a bit more, just to explore. All in all, I had a very good time, and I'm definitely going to have to get up into that area more often! ^_^
This afternoon, I'm probably going to try to finish off the next comic for House Of Fools and then study some Calculus and play some City of Heroes. We'll see how much of that actually happens... ;)
