New Job! (Life == Crazy)
May. 18th, 2006 05:58 pmBut for the most part in a good way :-)
Except the part where I've been sick for about a week. It's nothing really severe, just kind of this low level sinus crap that has a tendency to flare into a fever sometime when I'm trying to sleep. But enough about that. On to the good news!
I have a new job! I've been hired by the Judge Group to work as a contractor for Battelle in one of those temp-to-hire positions. It's a 6-month contract, after which we determine whether we like each other enough for me to stay on as an employee of Battelle. From the interview and conversations that I've had with them, it sounds like it will be more along the lines of what I want to be doing (lots of programming and application development--hopefully without the bureaucratic red tape that I keep finding myself getting tangled in...)
I've submitted my resignation (and exerted my considerable willpower against myself to keep from telling my boss all of the reasons that I am leaving) and my last day is May 30. I start down in Stafford on May 31.
I'd like to extend a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has given me resume advice and/or offered to pass on my resume to coworkers/bosses/this person that they know. I didn't take as much advantage of that as I could have--mainly because I was only trying to deal with one potential position at a time--but even if I didn't actually send you my resume, I still really appreciate the offer. You all rock ^_^
