elkor recently posted a rant about chain mail/e-mail (I'm sure you've seen the kind that I'm talking about; it usually contains an injunction to forward it to X people or A Bad Thing will happen to you). I'm inclined to agree with him, and think people should be more conscious of that sort of thing, so I'm posting linkage here--you can read about it
