And all that time I figured I was just doing something wrong by not being able to hold the violin up without my hands. Apparently what I was doing wrong was trying to make that work without a shoulder rest ^_^

Long neck is looooong.

Current Mood: excited

I picked up a violin awhile back with the intention of actually learning how to play it an not sound like nails on a chalkboard, and every resource I've looked into for learning has strongly recommended that I find a teacher (something about posture and holding the instrument properly... ;)

So... anyone out there know of any good violin/fiddle teachers in the NOVA area? Or have recommendations of where to look, what to look for, what are reasonable rates, and what I should expect? ^_^
